-
- OK, I wouldn`t mind being without expansion slots IF:
-
- 1. AGA was augmented with a stripped down Cybervision style gfx system. The
- only reason I need my A4000 slots is to have a gfx card.
- 2. Internal drive bays: Very useful for buying CHEAP internal harddr ives, CD
- drives, floppies etc.
- 3. 2 (or more) parallel ports. With a digitiser and 2 printers (BW laser and
- colour bubblejet), I find it difficult to cope with 1 parallel port. I don`t
- like those port switchers either.
- 4. A nice fast serial port would be nice.
-
- OK, points 3 and 4 are not very high on my list of ultra priorities, but 1 and
- 2 wuld be essential in my next Amiga purchase.

- You know my views about the current A1200. And you are right that the price
- only attracts the Amiga experienced folks amongst us. Sales figures have proved
- this.

-
- Well, I would expect the A1200Plus to supplant the last of the A1200`s (which I
- strongly recommend that AT stop making due to potential oversupply problems at
- their current price) by the end of this year - becoming the low end with a
- competitive consumer price point of 299 UK pounds.

- Yes, I can see where that may become a problem, but if we come up with some
- decent ideas

- In the US, maybe, but as a service provider in the UK, IBM does NOT offer the
- best service. That`s my point.

-
- Technically, the A1200 is theirs. They have paid for it and should be selling
- it properly and NOT treating it like some evil little step-son. Continuing with
- your argument, the A1200Plus is their baby, and should be treated well...
-
- Their marketing strategies for this year will be discussed in hindsight - I`m
- sure. I just hope we will all be around in a few months to discuss this.
